The hope is that their journey and their advice will trigger something in you, and help you take the jump you need to achieve your personal level of success. Whether they are freelancers, founders of their own business, corporate employees, or students, this #LadiesWhoHustle series will showcase their unique talents and help you unveil yours.
Liberty Netuschil is from Lava Hot Springs, ID and enjoys reading, writing and producing content. She is very focused on health and wellness and is always reading the next scientific article about wellness. She is obsessed with animals and would love to have an organization, but for now is a full time model and blogger in her free time. Initially, Liberty wanted to be a radiologist and worked hard to get scholarships. Her plan was to attend university for 4-8 years to get a degree, but was scouted to be a model when she was 17 and she moved to LA and never turned back! Extremely motivated and hard working, read on to learn more about Liberty's career and successes to date.
Full time model and future full time blogger. I currently blog on the weekends.
Why do you do what you do?
I want to ultimately be a voice, a positive change, and someone who pushes people to think outside of the box. I know I wish to be a leader of some sort, maybe a CEO, a public speaker or a life coach. I'm not 100% sure yet, but this is why I am blogging and influencing! For now, I want to be a lifestyle and motivational blogger.
What was your dream job at 10 years old?
To be a radiologist. At 16, I considered a ballet dancer as well (but quickly found out it wasn't for me, but I was a dancer for 6 years competitively and I loved it!).
Tell us what your average day looks like.
On a photoshoot day, I wake up at 7am and drink 1 liter of lemon water. I then post to Instagram at 8am and engage for the next hour with my followers. I'm out the door at 8:15am and am at the photoshoot from 9am-5pm, usually with a new client. My favourite clients are beauty brands (Sephora, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and Too Faced to name a few I've worked with).
At 6pm, I take off all my makeup and put in a hair mask, and cook at delicious dinner at 6:30pm. My favourite is pesto salmon, sweet potato fries and garlic brussel sprouts. I then answer e-mails, send e-emails, reply to DMs on Instagram, put up an Instagram story and give love to my two cats at 8:30pm.
By 9pm, I'm editing a photo for Instagram for the next day and am preparing a caption. I climb into bed at 10pm and plan the next blog and prepare for the next day. Bedtime is at 11pm!
A day where I don't have a photoshoot includes a wake up at 9am, when I drink a liter of lemon water. At 10am I am in a Pilates class and at 11:30am I am taking a shower and sending off proposal e-mails/answering e-mails. From 12:30-4pm I prepare my next blog post and film a YouTube video and at 5pm I do a photoshoot for Instagram. At 6pm I download the photos and do the rest of my evening routine the same way as a photoshoot day!
Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
I want to be the same as now. Happy, motivated, inspired. I want to be traveling more for sure! I want to make money so that I am able to move into a bigger apartment and I want to be further into whatever career path I decide to take. I want to have a man but not be married and I want to volunteer more, have a wider audience on social media and be speaking with them a lot. I will always blog, so I hope my blog is blooming as well. And of course, I want to have little fur babies that I love and maybe even foster animals!
What has been your biggest career struggle so far?
Being indecisive about what I want and financially taking care of myself. Since I was out of the house by 17 and moved to LA, the cost of living is very expensive and I don't have my family to take care of me. So, finances are huge for me! The rest is a learning experience and I love it!
What about your biggest career win?
I feel blessed that I found modelling when I needed to find myself most. It allowed me to be true to myself because LA allows you to be whoever you want to be. The time as a model I have soul searched and really grown into my skin as a person more than I think I would've with any other career path.
What's the best piece of career advice you've received?
Making connections will change your life.
What's the worst piece of career advice you've received?
To follow your heart. In a way, I get what it means: to find your true passion and go for it. But let's be real, following my heart would mean doing what I want every day and it wouldn't be consistent. Some days I want to eat ice cream and watch movies, some days I want to travel, some days I want to sit on the beach. That's not logically the best advice because even if you LOVE to do a lot of things, it doesn't mean you're willing to make them a career.
Instead, they may be better as a hobby or something you do on the weekends. Your career is about balance and the willingness to do something, knowing that it has both good and bad. Just like ballet, that would've been following my heart by dancing every day. I love it THAT much. But realistically, it comes with having to train 8 hours a day. My body would be wrecked! It means I have to compete every show, maybe 4 times a year to get the lead role. I don't want to compete for my financial stability.
What are you the most proud of?
Being who I am, no matter what. I try to learn constantly, but ultimately, I am making my own choices and not letting anyone get in the way of my happiness.
Who motivates you?
There are too many to name just one. So many women inspire me in different ways, but I really want to be unique and different as a business babe. I don't want to copy anyone, and I definitely don't think anyone is perfect either! If I have to pick one woman, let's be real, who doesn't think Beyonce isn't a boss babe! She empowers women wholeheartedly, runs her own show, her own life and has built her success through hard work, talent and smarts. She's a badass.
When do you feel the most confident?
When I am wearing something I love, surrounded by people I love and love myself. I think confidence comes from within, and I rarely have days where I don't feel confident. I have learned to be my own cheerleader and constantly talk myself up to myself!
